How Do I Get In?

  • A pass in STPM, with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.00) in any 2 subjects, and a credit in English at SPM level or any equivalent qualification; OR 
  • A pass in STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid, and a credit in Mathematics and English at SPM level; OR 
  • Any qualifications equivalent to Diploma or Advanced Diploma (Level 4 or 5, MQF); OR 
  • Matriculation/Foundation qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00, or any equivalent qualification.

Principles of Marketing

This module covers the role of marketing, with a focus on market analysis. You will learn about product management, promotion, pricing, and distribution strategies.

Critical Thinking

This module challenges you to rethink creativity. You will develop creative thinking, sharpen your analytical skills, and learn the fundamentals of critical and creative thinking.

Creative Idea Conceptualisation

This module challenges your mindset by helping you understand creativity and how to transform ideas into actual products or projects. It encourages creative, out-of-the-box thinking for any medium.

Popular Culture

This module explores popular culture from different sociological perspectives and its impact on daily life. You will examine its influence on areas such as cinema, television, literature, music, celebrity, food, shopping, street culture, and cyberculture.

Photography

In this module, you will learn the basics of photography and digital imaging, from display design to using a DSLR, and study the work of renowned photographers.

Digital Image Creation for Visual Branding

This module covers publication tasks, including grid techniques, typography, image manipulation, and multi-page design. You will enhance your layout skills and learn how visual branding helps a brand stand out and be recognised.

Consumer Behaviour

This module helps you understand consumers, exploring how values, beliefs, prejudices, and persuasion influence their lifestyle, thought process, and decision-making.

Copywriting across Media

This module covers effective copywriting for traditional, digital, and new media, including print, radio, TV, billboards, the internet, and other alternative mediums.

Digital Branding and Business Strategies

Applied Branding Strategy, Planning and Management

This module focuses on brand strategy from a customer-based brand equity perspective. You will learn to define and analyse key elements in brand creation, critique marketing techniques for building brand resonance, and manage brand audits. Additionally, you will gain skills in designing brand identity and elements for clients.

Video Production

This module teaches you to operate video equipment from pre- to post-production and use the right techniques in field production.

Media Ethics

Media and Communication Theories

International Branding Strategies and Execution

Web Analytics

Final Year Project

PR Theory and Practice / Motion Graphics

PR Theory and Practice introduces you to public relations theory and its business context. You will explore PR’s development through case studies and theoretical models, while learning key skills in planning, strategy, team work, and media communication.

Motion Graphics teaches you techniques for creating moving graphics. You will learn to design, plan, edit, and synchronize graphics, sound, and visual effects through hands-on workshops.

Sound Design and Production / Visual Communication

Sound Design and Production teaches you to design and record sound using professional equipment in various environments. You will learn to create and synchronise digital audio with visuals, explore recording techniques, and apply sound editing software. You’ll also analyse and evaluate your work against media theory and professional practice.

In Visual Communication, you’ll explore the cultural meaning of visuals. Through workshops and studio time, you’ll experiment with these relationships and enhance your technical skills.

MPU MODULES

National Language A / Academic Writing

National Language A helps you master the national language for clear and creative communication, both verbally and in writing. Academic Writing introduces the basics of English, focusing on writing, critical thinking, and brainstorming to improve your communication skills.

Philosophy and Current Issues

This module covers the relationship between philosophy, the National Education Philosophy and the National Principles of Malaysia (Rukun Negara).

Appreciation of Ethics and Civilisation (Malaysian students) / Malay Communication 2 (International students)

Appreciation of Ethics and Civilisation helps you understand ethical principles, focusing on the National Principles (Rukun Negara), government policies, unity, and national development. You will also learn about Malaysia’s history before and after independence, and the efforts to build the nation’s civilisation.

Malay Communication 2 improves your ability to communicate confidently in both formal and informal settings, enhancing your interaction skills in the national language.

Serving our Society (S.O.S)

Serving Our Society (S.O.S) is a student-run society focused on local and international community work. This module covers community engagement projects, including proposal preparation and key features for effective project implementation.
